I see a thread like this at nearly every forum I visit, but not here. So here goes. Post a pic you took...Just your own. Descriptions are nice but not necessary.

I'll start...My second attempt at catching lightning.



Canon 30D and Tamron 17-50 (@17) on a cheap Targus tripod. ISO200, f/9, manually focused at (close to) infinity, ten-second exposure length. Camera was set for mirror lock-up before the shot and a cable release was used to minimize as much camera shake as possible.

That's pretty cool. We purchased a Nikon D3100 for a mutual Christmas present and I've played with it a little but not enough to do anything super-awesome.


Took this in the dark fumbling around for unfamiliar controls I couldn't see. Somehow managed, no idea what settings I had but I did finally manage to turn the flash off so I didn't get close-up pictures of snowflakes on a black background.

Our new puppy, Scarlet, a female Yorkie. She came home today. Was a gift from my parents to my girlfriend for her birthday.

These are all taken with an iphone 4, not my nice camera but...

Storm a week ago as seen from my back porch. This came the afternoon I'd just planted the garden... and hailed. Fortunately not much was damaged and the FLOOD of water seeped into our sandy soil in a couple of hours.





This was from today, mowing the trail out in the woods..



This tree stand needs to come down before the tree does...
