    Big birds



    Y halo that, cranes! Took this over the weekend. These guys live in some wetlands across the road and like to come over into our beam field to pick at I'm guessing beans left over from the combine... maybe bugs though.

    I wonder if the ones I see ALL THE FUCKING TIME are actually the Florida subspecies, or if they're just transient "regular" ones.

    I know they migrate from Wisconsin south. They actually raise them in Necedah to teach baby whooping cranes the route. Maybe some of them saw how nice it was in Florida and decided to stay. "Who needs all that ice and snow anyways eh?"
