I enjoyed mine, whether just cruising to work or flogging the piss out of it on a winding back road.
Bought it from a police department near here and thought maybe I could find out a little about it on the net.
That was around ten years ago.

I disagree with this thread. Mercury Grand Marquis was the best car ever made.

Since this is a more neutral car site, the Crown Victoria was not the best car ever made. It is in the top two, but the Caprice was better. I'd still be driving one if General Morons hadn't cancelled the B body platform in favor of pushing FWD POS's.

I'd still be driving a Caprice if it hadn't become an electrical nightmare.

Would those include the dreaded optispark?

The Raptor is a frivolous project at a time when Ford has no business screwing around with frivolous projects. As such, it's the best kind of vehicle one built with damn-the-torpedoes passion. In a rational world, it wouldn't exist. Thank God we don't live in a rational world.

Yeah, the Whale Caprice/Impalas were crap. They made better power when equipped with the LT-1 but that's ALL they had over the Panthers at the time. End of story.

I've been in refrigerator boxes with better ergonomics than a Caprice.

If I found a minty Coprice that had been in someone's garage for a decade, I'd rock it. I dated a girl with one and I enjoyed it.

I'm also biased, I my Suburban and I consider electrical issues a small price for loyal service.
