I ordered a $430 + Tax Current Gen i5 Mac Mini from CowBoom last week (and I used up gift cards ;)). Just got it today. Came in a plain cardboard package, shrink wrapped to a board. Actually included the HDMI to DVI adapter (woo!). No keyboard or mouse, but I have mac Keyboards and hate mac mices.

Opened her up because it's just so damn easy (twist a cover off) and found out I had 4 gig of ram instead of the 2 gig it was listed with, so I might actually have the 2.5 gHz and better graphics :woot: Checked the warranty, it's good till December of this year. I need to decide if I am gonna buy the $149 AppleCare or not....

What do I "HAVE" to do with it? Can I browse chopstick gay midget porn and not get a STD? :ohnoes:

Pics to come.

Put itunes on it. The mac version is 10x less shitty than the windows version.

Also, steam for mac = easy portable gaming platform?

Mostly though I've found that mac makes for a nice every day use PC just because it's stable, fast, and doesn't suffer from win-rot.

Buy an external hard drive and configure Time Machine. Backups happen in the background and restores are super easy should a problem arise.

Correction, I would be a mac user, but I think the HDD either was dead from Best Buy or died in transit

Now I am deciding between the simple send in or AppleCare now :P

I will say that the idea of a warranty instead of digging into laptop style hardware is appealing.

Some Apple hardware is appealing, I'd take a 27" iMac with Windows 7 Enterprise.
